The first Hobbit holes were built as temporary sets for the first movie and then torn down.
When they filmed the second movie, they constructed these more permanent movie set fronts.
These set pieces are only "fronts" and interior shots of the Hobbit holes for the movie were filmed elsewhere.
Still, the magic of the setting for these Hobbit holes make them come to life.
The gardens and set details around the homes of the specific tradesmen bring the place to life.
